TOM WICK
Tom Wick was inspired by the music he heard growing up on Chicago’s Southside and was drawn to the solid pocket & groove of the low end thump. Tom picked up his first bass in 1966 and started learning progressions, walks and riffs. After graduating from Morgan Park High School in 1970, he formed the band Fire & Ice with his friend, guitarist Randy Snapp (who would become long time band mates) playing local teen clubs, school dances, and neighborhood festivals.
In the late 70’s Tom joined up with George Marakas of Lemon Pipers fame ( Green Tambourine) with the popular Chicago band “Shadow” playing the mid-west club circuit. Tom’s pro career also included stints with numerous show bands including Beatle Bands “Number 9” and “ British Import”. He’s played with Rick “Elvis” Saucedo and performed at Chicagofest with “The Tom Keith Band” and “Pearls”. Most recently Tom has been playing bass with American Conservatory of Music Grad John Melnick (ZAZU) in “Undercovers” and with long time Chicago rocker John “J-LO ” Lostroscio in the “Chi-Town Sessions” Band.
Tom Wick is a seasoned player who lays down the foundation on the bass, knowing when to inject color and character into the music. Tom is truly a talented musician.
